Boris Johnson has said during his press briefing that the variant first identified in the UK, “may be associated with a higher degree of mortality”.
It comes as the United Kingdom reported 1,401 deaths, taking the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 95,829 since the start of the pandemic.
