Prime Minister Boris Johnson has this afternoon told Prime Minister’s Questions that he is ‘furious’ after footage leaked showing staff from Number 10 joking about a Christmas Party last year.

Opposition leaders have led the criticism after ITV News shared leaked footage yesterday evening that showed members of Number 10 staff laughing and joking about lockdown restrictions and a Christmas Party that is reported to have taken place when London was under Tier 3 restrictions last December.

Mr Johnson apologised and said that he has asked for an investigation to take place.

Mr Johnson said: ‘I understand and share the anger up and down the country at seeing staff from Number 10 seeming to make light of lockdown restrictions.”

However, the apology wasn’t enough for opposition leader Sir Kier Starmer who criticised the Prime Minister and said that he had been ‘caught red handed’ and that his apology ‘raises more questions than answers’.
