Transport for Wales has confirmed this evening that no trains will run between Hereford and Shrewsbury on Friday, due to overrunning engineering works.
Engineering work has been taking place over recent days, with buses replacing trains between Hereford and Shrewsbury.
Work was expected to be completed so that services could return to normal on Friday, but this hasn’t been the case.
A spokesperson for Transport for Wales said:
“Due to overrunning engineering works between Hereford and Shrewsbury, there will be no trains running between Hereford and Shrewsbury on Friday 22nd September.
“Alternative road transport is being requested.
“Passengers advised to travel on alternative routes, ticket acceptance is in place with the following train operators.”
Cross Country, Cardiff and on towards Birmingham
West Midlands, Shrewsbury or Hereford to Birmingham
Great Western Railway, Cardiff to Bristol Parkway
Avanti, Birmingham to Crewe/Chester/Holyhead
Avanti, Stafford/Crewe to Manchester
Northern, Crewe to Manchester
