The A49 is currently closed at Dinmore Hill due to a vehicle fire.
The incident is at Dinmore Hill, on the Hereford side, with vehicles now being stopped from passing over the hill.
West Mercia Police and Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service are at the scene.
Motorists are advised to use an alternative route.
Traffic is building up on surrounding routes.
