A major route in Herefordshire is closed this afternoon, with emergency services responding to a collision.
The A44 is currently closed in both directions at Broadwas between Bromyard and Worcester.
West Mercia Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service are at the scene.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said:
“We were called at around 1pm to a road traffic collision involving a car and a van on the A44, Broadwas.
Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham attended the scene. Upon arrival we found three patients.
“Firstly, a woman who was the driver of the car. She was assessed and had sustained serious injuries. She received treatment at the scene before being conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital by land for further treatment.
“A man and a woman who were the driver and passenger in the van were assessed and had sustained injuries not believed to be serious.
“They received treatment at the scene before being conveyed to Worcester Royal Hospital by land for further assessment.”
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said:
“We received a call around 1pm this afternoon (19 June) with a report of a collision on the A44, near Broadwas.
“Officers arrived to find two vehicles involved and will remain at the scene to assist other emergency services and manage the road closure.”
Motorists are advised to use an alternative route.
Traffic is building up in the area and on surrounding routes.
