A man has suffered serious injuries in a collision in Herefordshire this morning.
West Mercia Police, West Midlands Ambulance Service, Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service and the Air Ambulance were all called to the collision on the A49 between Hereford and Ross-on-Wye this morning.
The road was closed for a number of hours.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service told Your Herefordshire:
“We were called to reports of a two-car RTC at the junction of the A49 and Marsh Lane at 9.08am.
“Two ambulances, a paramedic officers, two Mercia Accident Rescue Service BASICS doctors and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.
“On arrival we discovered two patients. A man was found to have suffered serious injuries in the collision and received specialist trauma care at the scene before being airlifted to Southmead Hospital, Bristol.
“A woman, was treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to Hereford County Hospital.”
