The Silhouettes, Herefordshire’s leading Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons Tribute, will be performing a unique fundraising concert from The Courtyard’s stage. It will be live streamed on YouTube on Saturday 18 July 7.30pm in support of The Courtyard’s Covid-19 Crisis Appeal.
The local tribute band were scheduled to perform at the theatre in June, but after the show was cancelled due to the Coronavirus crisis, they decided to team up with Wild EdricMedia to stream the show into people’s homes as a fundraising event.
The Courtyard have approved the use of their stage for the performance, with strict social distancing, hygiene and Covid-19 regulations being followed. It will be streamed live to The Courtyard’s YouTube channel, TheCourtyardArts.
The fundraiser will be the first event to happen in The Courtyard since March when the Arts Centre was forced to close its doors ahead of UK Covid-19 Lockdown.
Ian Archer, The Courtyard’s Chief Executive said: “We are so grateful to The Silhouettes for putting on this uniquefundraising performance for our audiences. It will be very odd, I’m sure, to perform to an empty auditorium, but we hope it brings joy to those who are missing The Courtyard experience. Whilst the grant we received from Arts Council England is hugely important to support us through this extremely difficult time, the implications of this crisis will be long-lasting, and we need the support of our loyal audiences now more than ever to secure our future.”
It was announced on 7 July that the registered arts charity will receive £80,000 from the Arts Council’s Emergency Response Fund, to protect The Courtyard’s short-term survival until September 2020.
Those who enjoy the free streaming of The Silhouettes will be encouraged to donate, where possible, to support the venue.
The live performance of The Silhouettes: A Tribute to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons will be streamed for free on The Courtyard’s YouTube Channel @TheCourtyardArts on Saturday 18 July, 7.30pm and will be available to watch on demand for 14 days.
