Year 9 Pupil at the Hereford Church of England Academy, Hereford is national winner of Royal Mail Stamp design competition.

A spokesperson for Hereford Church of England Academy said:

“We are delighted to announce that Alfie Craddock, a Year 9 pupil at The Hereford Church of England Academy in Hereford is one of 8 overall winners in the Heroes of the Pandemic stamp design competition. Chosen by HRH the Prince of Wales, the eight winning designs will now feature on Royal Mail Special Stamps. HM The Queen approved all eight winning designs.

“Congratulations also to every school and every child that entered the competition. You were all part of history and a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title.

“The Royal Mail are also displaying Alfie’s stamp design on a number of bus stops throughout Hereford and Worcester. 

“Keep a look out his design, when you next catch a bus!”

Alfie has won £1000 for himself and £1000 for The Hereford Church of England Academy and also met Prince Charles!

Michael Stoppard, Headteacher stated that he was immensely proud of Alfie’s achievements.
