Local scouts miss out on awards ceremony due to Coronavirus outbreak.
Two scouts from Herefordshire have missed out on the chance to meet the Queen in a celebration at Windsor Castle after lockdown restrictions saw the event cancelled.
Emily Bantham-Jones and younger brother Harry were awarded the Queen’s Scout Award in the summer. The Queen‘s Scout award is the highest award you can gain in the scouting movement.
Emily said, “It was a real honour to achieve the award and to be invited to spend the day in the grounds on Windsor castle. We hope the celebration can take place once this is all over.
To achieve the award we have had to volunteer, improve skills, communication and physical activities.”
