Herefordshire children receiving free school meals can enjoy a wide range of activities this Easter.

Herefordshire Council’s school holidays Easter programme is open for activity bookings from today (Monday 4 March).

Parents of children (from reception to year 11) who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals can now book up to 16 hours of free Easter activities for their child.

Eligible children will be able to try out new and exciting activities, from trampolining to horse riding, cheerleading, circus school, parkour and lots more!

Every child that attends will be offered a free healthy meal.

Councillor Ivan Powell, Herefordshire Council Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said:

“It’s a tough time for families at the moment and the school holidays add extra pressure, so I’m delighted that we have the funding to keep offering the free activities to eligible families.

“With the support of our fantastic activity providers, we’re able to offer children the opportunity to learn new skills, make friends, connect with nature and have fun over Easter. Children will also be offered a tasty nutritious meal at every session.”

“Eligible families can book their places through the holiday activities page on the Talk Community website: www.talkcommunitydirectory.org/holidayactivities

The Here for Herefordshire Holidays programme is funded by the Department for Education and delivered by Herefordshire Council’s Talk Community team.
