Hereford Sands is a local support group of Sands run by volunteers. The group raises awareness of pregnancy and baby loss, offers peer emotional support to bereaved families, fundraises and links with local hospitals to ensure Sands bereavement support resources are available when they are needed.

Taking place 9 – 15 October every year, Baby Loss Awareness Week raises awareness of pregnancy and baby loss in the UK.

Throughout the week, bereaved parents, and their families and friends, unite with others across the world to commemorate the lives of babies who died during pregnancy, at or soon after birth, and in infancy.

Led by Sands, the Baby Loss Awareness Alliance is a collaboration of more than 100 charities working together to break the taboo and drive improvements in policy, bereavement care and support for anyone affected by the death of a baby.

This year, once again, landmarks in Hereford will be lit up in pink and blue and you will be able to tie a ribbon in memory at Hereford Cathedral. Hereford County Hospital, Hereford Cathedral and The Courtyard will all be lit up pink and blue during Baby Loss Awareness Week.
