The Kindle Centre announced yesterday that they have received funding from the Hereford Community Foundation that will enable them to support struggling families by providing them with Picnic Boxes. The boxes will support families to eat healthy and enjoy the great outdoors. A post on The Kindle Centre Facebook page said:

“We are excited to announce that we have received funding from Herefordshire Community Foundation, to deliver a Picnic Box Project throughout the summer holidays, starting on Friday 24th July.

We have seen and heard how many families are struggling, particularly those who’s family members have been furloughed or have recently lost their jobs. The project is to help these families and to encourage them to eat good food in the ‘great outdoors’. Over 40 boxes will be made every Monday and Friday until September.

The picnic boxes will be made to order and one family member will then come to collect at a given time, mid morning to lunch time. The picnic boxes will be in a cool bag. We are hoping that the cool bags can then be returned to us to sanitise and use again, possibly by the same family for the next picnic box day.

Please let us know if you are interested or would like to make a referral. We will send you a short form to fill in.

We will look forward to hearing from you.
