Your Herefordshire is delighted to announce that original founding Director Matt Healey has recently returned as a Director of the company.
Matt explains more below: “I had to take a step back in October 2024 from Your Herefordshire so I sold my shares. The main reason being I needed to get my DJ business to the level it is now and I’ve got some bits going with another business in South Wales, so I wasn’t able to dedicate enough time to Your Herefordshire and it was only fair that I took a step back and let the other directors run the business. I had pretty much worked non stop for four years and needed to have some time out from it all. I was still involved for the company, but on a freelancing contract. This though was for a hugely reduced set amount of hours a month than I was previously doing”
Matt continued: “During my time away from Your Herefordshire I built my other businesses, but with them mainly being evening work to fill the void in the daytime I spent time volunteering with local people at the drug and alcohol charity Turning Point. I facilitated a couple of weekly groups in Hereford and Leominster and it was extremely fulfilling to help people with their addictions. It had its challenges, with me having no lived experience of addiction it was a complete step out of my comfort zone, but it improved me massively as a person. I even ended up winning a national award for my efforts and went to a humbling ceremony in London to receive it”
Matt added: “Then in the summer of 2025 I was approached if I wanted to return to Your Herefordshire and I jumped at the opportunity to come back to my spiritual home. I had got my other businesses where they needed to be and it just felt right with everything aligned”
Matt wraps up “There were a couple of other commitments that I needed to tie up, but that’s all been finalised and we have finally got the paperwork done, so it’s all systems go. I want to say a big thank you to all our advertisers who trust us to promote their businesses on Herefordshire’s leading independent news outlet. Your Herefordshire’s Facebook followers will hit 135,000 soon and Instagram has now reached over 28,000 followers. It still amazes me how much the numbers grow and grow every week.”
