Paul has been through a rough few years of health issues including a heart attack, diabetes and Parkinson’s but has now decided that it’s time to pay back those that helped him with the support of his best friend, Donny.
Paul and Donny are aiming to raise money for the Atkinson Morley Wing at St George’s Hospital where Paul was lucky enough to qualify for D.B.S (Deep Brain stimulation) surgery which has given him a better quality of life.
They pair are currently over half way through a bike ride from John O’Groats in Scotland to Lands End. The distance is approximately 1,000 miles and they are hoping to ride an average of 50-60 miles per day.
Paul and Donald have been reunited after losing contact for 20 years after being friends from childhood. Donald works for Wooldridge group who have granted him three weeks leave to enable him to support Paul on this long journey. He is also a DJ for “Retro Soul Radio London”.
Paul is the founder and director of “Affordable Shutters Ltd”. The company will be funding the bikes and equipment for this challenge.
