Lucton School in Herefordshire hosted a truly remarkable day on Thursday, with a series of events on the 80th anniversary of VE Day.
From Lucton School:
A truly unforgettable day at Lucton School as we marked the 80th anniversary of VE Day!
Thanks to the incredible organisation of Mrs Rogers, we enjoyed a heartfelt and joyous celebration.
The air was filled with the sounds of wartime classics performed by Mrs Wall and Ana, alongside wonderful music from Mr Rogers and Samraj. The school band gave a powerful performance to conclude the event with the National Anthem.
A highlight of the day was our fantastic picnic, generously supported by the Friends of Lucton.
To everyone’s delight, a helicopter flyover capped off the occasion—on board were Mr Allman, Mrs Binnersley, and Mrs Ogden, piloted by Fred Perry, a former pupil.
Thank you to everyone who made this 80th anniversary commemoration so special.
