Hereford Cathedral has issued some important advice for visitors, with the Three Choirs Festival set to open in the city on Saturday 26th July.
From Hereford Cathedral:
From Saturday 26 July – Saturday 2 August the internationally-renowned Three Choirs Festival will be taking place here in Hereford.
During this period, the cathedral will be hosting multiple rehearsals and concerts each day which at times will limit visitor access to the building.
There will also be staging and seating in the main body of the nave throughout the week of the festival.
The staging set up will begin on Monday 21 July and will be removed from the building by Thursday 7 August.
The Mappa Mundi & Chained Library Museum, Cathedral Café and Shop will remain open as normal during this period.
At certain times, particularly during set up week and during some ticketed events, access via North Door may be restricted. On these occasions, signage will direct visitors to other cathedral entrances where they can access the café and shop and museum.
We apologise in advance for any disruption or inconvenience that this may cause.
We do encourage visitors to browse the Three Choirs Festival programme and join us for one of the many services and events taking place in the cathedral or outside on the Cathedral Close during the festival week: View the Three Choirs Festival programme here
