Volunteers from the Bromyard Area Community Litter Picks group have collected a huge amount of litter from the roadside between Bromyard and Bredenbury.
Karen Rock posted on the group earlier and said:
“To honour Earth Day, we set ourselves the target of getting from Bromyard to Bredenbury litter free.
“We knew it was a nigh impossible target but we are ever optimists. Joined by Handleys crew, we put in 15 man hours and we got absolutely nowhere near Bredenbury, what were we thinking, we filled 22 bags of litter, a lot of car bits and cleared from Bromyard to the field entrance next to the first house on the left going toward Bredenbury past Noakes riding school. Which is maybe half a mile?
“Never daunted though, we may have missed our target today but there are other days, and bit by bit we will get there.
“The pupils at Bredenbury school picked their playground and safe areas, and were surprised at just how much trash was in those verges hidden in the grass.
“I saw a muntjac make their way along a ditch into a field, and its lovely knowing they will not have to risk injury from rubbish being tossed from passing cars. Please, everyone – bin your litter.”
