Herefordshire Board Gamers recently turned six years old, celebrating their birthday with a free games day, AGM and presentation from Herefordshire Mind whom they raise money for.
Over the past six years they have raised £17,000 for good causes and run hundreds of free events.
During the pandemic they went online and started a free community lending library which now stands at over 400 games, 50 jigsaws, giant games and tables and chairs. The library has supported individuals, charity events and likeminded communities and there are games to suit everyone.
Other highlights of the last 12 months is starting LGBTQIA+ games nights and the return to in person events including extending their 8th free annual charity in May to three days raising £3,000. They also supported breaking a world record attempt where a team in Gloucester played a board game for over 85 hours non stop.
They would like to thank all the wonderful people and businesses around Hereford who supported them.
They meet on the first Thursday and third Sunday a month at The Herdsman pub and online on the second Thursday and fourth Sunday.
They are planning to hold LGBTQIA+ events and all-day charity events once a quarter. Herefordshire Boardgamers are on Facebook, Instagram, Discord and Twitter so join the community to keep up to date with other events too including walks, guided mediation, role play games e.g Dungeons and Dragons and video games. Everyone is welcome. www.herefor.games
