Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service’s Phoenix Challenge has 60 places available for an adrenaline-pumping experience at St Peter’s Church in Hereford.

Get ready to conquer your fears and descend the side of the church while supporting the Fire Fighters Charity.

“Whether you’re an experienced abseiler or a first-timer, this event is perfect for everyone,” said the organiser, Firefighter Spencer Jones.

“Don’t miss out on this thrilling opportunity to make a difference and have a blast at the same time. See you there!”

Abseilers will pay a non-refundable £25 registration fee to secure their place which covers the cost of the abseil with a promise to raise a minimum of £100 each via a Team JustGiving page.

The Phoenix Challenge has raised £25,700 for the Fire Fighters Charity since 2020 and is aiming to take that total beyond £30,000 with the St Peter’s Church abseil.

A range of ages are welcome to take part, however the minimum age for participants is 12, and anyone under the age of 18 must have parental or guardian consent at point of registration.

There will be a range of slots to choose from on the day, starting at 9.30am and finishing at 4:30pm. Guests not taking part in the abseil are encouraged to come along and support.

The abseil will take place outside St. Peter’s Church, St. Peter’s Square, Hereford, HR1 2DL on Saturday 23 August. To sign up or for more information contact Spencer Jones at sjones@hwfire.org.uk
