Peter Wilkinson from Hereford was the delighted recipient yesterday of an IPA (Inspired by Possibility Award) from Turning Point.
Turning Point are a leading social enterprise, providing health and social care services in over 300 locations across England.
The Herefordshire Recovery Service is commissioned by Herefordshire Council.
Peter gives up his free time to volunteer at the music group which takes place on Fridays from 10am-2pm.
Peter told Your Herefordshire “I work at the music shop at the bottom of Commercial Road and Tim from Turning Point popped in one day and asked if I would be willing to donate some time to volunteer my services at the music group”
Peter added “I bring in conventional instruments like guitars and drums, but I’ve also brought in American flutes and various different types of Cello. I have been involved for just over a year volunteering and its really nice to see how people grow after being able to express themselves through music & art”
The ceremony was broadcast online and Peter is proud of his achievements. “I was over the moon to be nominated and I want to thank all the staff and colleagues for their support they have given me”
