Gordon Bennetts Bar is among more than 2,700 recipients to benefit from the latest round of awards from the £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund.
A post on the Gordon Bennetts Facebook page said:
“We are really proud and happy that we have been recognised for our significance to the local live music scene by the Arts Council and have been awarded £38,350. This will ensure that we can continue to provide free live music when we reopen to the public. We are busy planning our reopening as we speak and cannot wait to welcome our customers back.
“A massive thank you to Arts Council England & HM Treasury for supporting a small local business. The biggest thanks has to go to our loyal customers who we know will be dancing around as soon as they are allowed!”
