Bowling Alleys have been given the go ahead to reopen from 1st August, meaning that MFA Bowl in Hereford and The Grove in Leominster, can reopen their doors for the first time since March. However, things will have significantly changed.

Staff will be likely to be wearing gloves, every other bowling alley will be closed off to help with social distancing and there will be a limit to six per lane. That’s according to the chief financial officer, Laurence Keen of Hollywood Bowl.

The main points from the Prime Ministers announcement were;

From 1 August:

  • Bowling alleys, skating rinks and casinos can reopen
  • Wedding receptions will be allowed for up to 30 people
  • Indoor performances to a live audience will restart
  • Employers and employees should discuss whether it is safe to return to the workplace.

From September:

  • Schools, nurseries and colleges will be open to children and young people on a full-time basis.

From October:

  • Aim for audiences to return to stadia and conferences
  • Other business events will restart.

November

  • Mr Johnson said the government hopes to “allow a more significant return to normality from November at the earliest – possibly in time for Christmas”.
