A partial solar eclipse will be visible across Herefordshire (subject to cloud cover!) and the rest of the United Kingdom later this morning.
The solar eclipse will start across the UK at around 10.10am, with the maximum eclipse being visible at 11.13am, when approximately 15% of the surface of the Sun will be covered by the Moon.
Due to such a small amount of the surface of the Sun being covered, it is unlikely that it will get notably darker during the eclipse.
The weather forecast for Herefordshire today is as follows:
“A bright and breezy day once again, with sunny spells and the risk of a few showers. Cloud increasing through the evening, with stronger winds and rain setting in overnight. Maximum temperature 17c.”
People are reminded not to look directly at the Sun at any time, including during the eclipse.
