A Herefordshire market town ‘took the first step back to normality’ this week as the Covid 19 restrictions were lifted.
Shoppers and visitors to Kington enjoyed their first freedom in months being able to buy and browse in a full variety of local shops.
Kington Chamber of Trade Chairman Emma Hancocks said ‘It was great to see all the businesses back open and people hustling and bustling in town. To see the town with people shopping, walking and talking to others was really lovely to see. It’s been the first step on the road to back to some form of normality and you can see just how much we as a town have missed that”
While Victoria Garlick who runs Sweet Sensations by Victoria at Forget Me Knots said ‘It’s been a steady week, people are still somewhat cautious, but it’s helpful to know that people in and around Kington are very careful and feel this way. We are able to feel more comfortable in this area because of how people have reacted to this pandemic. We’re very lucky to live where we are.’
