A Hereford charity is launching a new campaign so that anyone can support them – whatever their hair length!

The Little Princess Trust receives hair from people all over the world who cut off their long locks to support its free wig provision service.

Phil Brace, from The Little Princess Trust, said he was incredibly grateful to every hair donor but fully aware that not everyone can donate long locks.

So the charity is now launching a Funky Hair Funday campaign so that anyone can support The Little Princess Trust without having to reach for the scissors.

Mr Brace said Funky Hair Funday is “a day to style your hair – or head – in any way you like” to raise money and profile for The Little Princess Trust.

Supporters can boost the fun by inviting friends, work colleagues or classmates to join in and turn the event into a party – or funday!

People taking part can come up with different categories and award prizes for the most imaginative creations.

But the main aim is to make sure all involved have bucket loads of fun while supporting The Little Princess Trust.

“We are so lucky to receive long hair donations from supporters which we use to make wigs for young people who have lost their own hair due to cancer treatment or other conditions such as Alopecia,” said Mr Brace.

“However, we do know that there are lots of other people who would like to support us but are unable to donate more than 12 inches of their long hair.

“Funky Hair Funday is therefore for anyone who wants to support our free wig provision and our funding of childhood cancer research.”

The Little Princess Trust, which is based on Berrington Street, has already received support from one Herefordshire school.

Pupils from Sutton Primary Academy let their imaginations run wild as they held their own Funky Hair Funday to mark the launch of the new campaign.
