“Twilight” the bat was found a few days ago, injured and grounded, by one of our followers. Being a protected animal he wasn’t really sure what to do, so contacted the volunteers of Hereford Bat Rescue, who knew exactly how to help.

Sadly Twilight was too poorly, and ended his days in the warmth and comfort of the Bat Rescue’s care ????

What can you do if you find a grounded or injured bat? ????

???? Stay safe yourself, always always use a cloth or glove if picking up a bat.

???? In the first instance contact the Bat Conservation Trust National Bat Helpline on 0345 1300 228. The helpline will be able to advise on a range of bat-related matters as well as putting you in touch with local bat rehabilitators.

???? If you cannot get through to the national helpline, then contact Hereford Bat Rescue on herefordbatrescue@gmail.com and leave your name, address with postcode, and phone number – Bat Rescue can help with any injured or grounded bats you find in Herefordshire and adjacent areas and can assess remotely.
