As we enter another national lockdown, West Mercia Women’s Aid want to reassure our communities that the safety of women and children experiencing domestic abuse is still a priority. This was reflected in Monday nights announcement as the Prime Minister confirmed that those fleeing domestic abuse are exempt from lockdown restrictions and are able to leave their homes in order to find safety and support.
West Mercia Women’s Aid are still there for you and will continue to be throughout lockdown. Their refuges remain open, their Helpline is available 24/7 and LiveChat service offers advice and support from 9.00am-9.00pm Monday-Friday.
Please remember if you are experiencing domestic abuse and need help the travel restrictions do not apply to you. The services remain open for you and if you or someone else is in immediate danger call 999.
