Shadow – Collie X Australian Shepherd – 5.5 months old

Young Shadow is very timid, sadly until a few weeks ago Shadow and her two brothers had never experienced normal life, living within a home environment has been worrying for her and being around other dogs is particularly scary for her.
Shadow can still be very hand shy and wary of walking past people and things such as wheelie bins, vehicles etc.. so will be needing an environment which is very calm where she can learn to adapt to her new surroundings in her own time and without pressure.
Considering her previous life, it’s remarkable that Shadow is house trained and sleeps well overnight without any issues.
Shadow is currently in one of our lovely foster homes but has reached a point where she needs to move on to her new family so that she can start to bond, find her feet and continue her journey.
Shadow will need a home as the only pet, she is worried about being around dogs, larger dogs in particular and sharing a home with any will likely knock her confidence even further, she has not been introduced to cats.
A child free home will also be required as Shadow would be petrified of small people.
An owner with a very good level of experience with nervous dogs will be required, all interactions would need to be done gradually to ensure positive experiences and to gain Shadow’s trust going forward.
Shadow is such a sweet little girl who just needs to continue learning how to live in the real world, due to her mix of breeds she will be needing a home where she can receive lots of mental stimulation.
Given further time, patience and socialisation we are really hopeful that she will become a happy, normal life-loving puppy!
