Dougie – Cocker Spaniel – 18 weeks old

Don’t be led by Dougie’s angelic face alone, this young lad has a very quick mind, please read full details below before applying for gorgeous Dougie!
Dougie is a little pup with a whole load of spirit, he is extremely high energy and WILL NOT be satisfied if expected to be a pet who receives 1- 2 short walks per day.
Dougie is incredibly clever, he knows all his basic commands and is eager to please.
He is also crate trained, sleeps soundly all night, travels well, good at loose-lead walking and 95% house trained.
Dougie will also wait at pavements and thresholds when asked.
However, Dougie is a typical over excitable puppy who becomes very over stimulated if not kept to his routine and given time to chill out.
With this in mind we are looking for a very active home with an owner who has an excellent knowledge of owning and training spaniels, ideally with some resident tolerant spaniel buddies to show him the ropes.
A home without young children will be required, Dougie would be far too much even for dog savvy little people.
We want to get it right for Dougie first time so will only be able to consider homes that are 100% right, committed to training classes going forward and able to manage Dougie whilst he’s in his current crocodile phase.
We have already made enquiries for the possibility of securing a working/detection dog pet home where Dougie can make good use of his nose so would absolutely consider this type of environment for him if suitable.
