In support of National Grief Awareness Week 2020, The Courtyard are Lighting Up Yellow on Tuesday 8 December in collaboration with The Good Grief Trust.
The Good Grief Trust charity is spearheading this national campaign for the second consecutive year. They are the UK’s leading grief charity bringing all bereavement services under one umbrella.
“We’re delighted to be Lighting Up Yellow in support of National Grief Awareness week 2020.” Said Jessica Prosser, Head of Marketing and Sales, “It is acutely apparent that there is a need to raise awareness around the impact of bereavement and grief and now, more than ever, we need to come together and support one another. The Courtyard prides itself in being a hub of support for its community and Lighting Up Yellow is our way of showing that we are here for everyone!”
The weeks leading up to Christmas can be an incredibly difficult time for those who are grieving and the impact that Covid19 has had on people across the globe will undoubtedly heighten the sadness felt by so many. The ‘Light Up Yellow’ campaign aims to raise awareness of the impact of grief and The Courtyard join a host of buildings across the nation including St Pauls Cathedral and The National Theatre in lighting up yellow.
Aside from this small gesture of support, The Courtyard works closely with St Michael’s Hospice and hosts their regular Death Café meetings which offer participants the opportunity to discuss the topic of death in a safe and supported environment and interact with others with similar experiences.
The Courtyard remains closed to the public at this time but plans to reopen on 1 February 2021 and are excited to unveil a brand new Café Bar area, multi-purpose studio and shop which will sell local crafts and produce.
