The building itself may still be closed, but the show is most definitely still going on behind closed doors at The Courtyard Hereford.
Last weekend the team remotely attended The Great British Pantomime Awards, hosted by Christopher Biggins, having been nominated for four awards categories for last years spectacular pantomime Cinderella.
“I was absolutely thrilled to be nominated and I truly wasn’t expecting it at all.” Said Cinderella writer Lyndsay Maples, “I’m so happy that the Courtyard had four nominations, it shows what a wonderful team effort the show was – only the London Palladium and Hackney Empire had more nominations than we do! Hereford should be very proud.”
The categories – Best Ensemble, Best Script (Lyndsay Maples), Best Female Villain (Melanie Stevens) and Best Newcomer (Herbie Kinsey) were sadly taken by other Theatres this year, but there’s another chance next year, with the classic production of Jack and the Beanstalk planned to run over the 2020/21 festive period.
