The Black Lion Hereford – A pub that refused to give in despite the floods and then Coronavirus.

When the team at The Black Lion in #Hereford raised a glass to welcome in the New Year, not in their worst of nightmares could they have guessed what was around the corner.

Record breaking floods and a bar under the best part of a metre of water, the team worked hard to clear things up and to get back to business. This was until the Coronavirus pandemic hit, forcing the closure of all pubs across the United Kingdom.

Knowing that when restrictions were lifted, some sort of social distancing would still be in place, the team at The Black Lion have worked hard to improve the outdoor seating area to make it more welcoming and have had an all round spruce up ready to welcome customers back from Saturday.

They have made plans to be able to offer table service to all of the customers, inside and out, and be able to operate a socially distanced restaurant.

They are employing door staff to control numbers and staff to greet and seat folk as they arrive – all at an extra cost to their normal overheads.

The team at Your Herefordshire would like to wish Peter Edwards and his team the best of luck. We think you’ve made the place look extremely welcoming.
