Hereford Cathedral are opening the beautiful cathedral gardens on Saturday 7 June, from 10am – 3.30pm.

Visitors will be able to explore the historic Chapter House Garden, Cloister Garden, Canons’ Garden, Dean’s Garden and the beautiful Bishop’s Garden at their own leisure, with a team of volunteer garden guides on hand in each garden to answer any questions.

This is a self-led event where you are welcome to enjoy the peaceful and beautiful gardens at your own pace.

There are many places to sit, relax and enjoy the tranquil environment.   

Tickets cost £7 for garden entry. You are welcome to arrive any time during the day but please note that last entry is at 3pm. You can also add on afternoon tea and a glass of prosecco for £13!

During the event, the Cathedral team will be serving delicious Afternoon Tea from College Hall, located within the gardens.

To book Afternoon Tea, proceed with booking your standard garden ticket, then when you add this to the basket, an option to add on Afternoon Tea will appear and can be added to your basket. 

Afternoon tea will be served until 2:30 pm on the event day. The afternoon tea includes:

  • A selection of finger sandwiches
  • A variety of mini cakes including Victoria sponge, eclairs, macarons, and strawberry meringues
  • Mini scones with jam, clotted cream & strawberries
  • Tea or coffee
  • Glass of Prosecco

To book tickets please proceed below. You will receive a confirmation email after your booking which will act as your ticket.

Please take this with you on the day, either printed or on your phone.

Hereford Cathedral require booking in advance for any afternoon tea tickets to ensure they can cater for all requests.

Please let the Cathedral know if you are planning to bring a large group, so they can be sure to accommodate you and reserve a table. 

Accessibility Information: the Chapter House Garden and Cloister Garden are both easily accessible for wheelchairs. The Canons’ Garden, Dean’s Garden and Bishop’s Garden have some areas with sloping lawns, gravel paths and a few steps so are less accessible, but more accessible routes throughout the gardens can be suggested.
