An actor from Hereford has recently finished filming with famed Hollywood star Shia LaBeouf.
Jamie O’Rourke, from Hereford, recently wrapped filming on an exciting new film by duo directors Bjorn Franklin and Johnny Marchetta.
Based on the story of a former boxer who tries to reignite his career through a series of underground fights, “Salvable” was largely shot in South Wales and stars well known actors such as Toby Kebbell (Fantastic Four, Planet of the Apes), James Cosmo (Braveheart, Game of Thrones) and Michael Socha (This is England)
“Although James Cosmo wasn’t in any of my scenes, I have worked with him previously and he’s a fantastic and well respected actor”
Mr O’Rourke was chosen by production based on his previous work and was excited for the opportunity to star alongside Shia LaBeouf, having previously appeared in Transformers.
At one point the Assistant Director ceremoniously nominated Jamie for a dialogue wild track (audio only), whereby he had to perform the scripted lines in a thick Irish accent whilst the entire production, crew and A-list actors watched on in complete silence. /”I think my surname may have given them the wrong impression, because it really didn’t go plan and will haunt me for the rest of my life”/, Jamie said.
“Shia was great, really friendly and down to earth. Day one I walked into the production office and he was just there, sitting down eating breakfast, you kind of go into ‘work mode’ so there is never really any ego or obvious excitement. You just carry on like, ‘has anyone seen my shoes and socks? Oh there’s Shia LeBeouf’”
“What really stood out was how professional Shia was, at times it could be quite intimidating, but it was clear that he was passionate about his work and had the experience and knowledge to back up everything he did”.
Shia LeBeouf is married to renowned horror actress Mia Goth and the couple have a child together. They have recently been spotted in Glasgow for the filming of the new Netflix adaptation of Frankenstein.
Mr O’Rourke has previously appeared in popular TV shows such as Stephen Merchant’s “The Outlaws” and cast with big named directors such as the Russo Brothers (Avengers Endgame) Guy Ritchie (Snatch) and the notable Nina Gold who cast the film recently shot in Weobley.
Mr O’Rourke has also worked with Hereford’s Rural Media Company on several projects including “The Willows”, a short film shedding light on domestic abuse in rural communities.
