A Grammy nominated musician will make his way across the Atlantic to perform in Hereford next month.

Daniel Kimbro, from Knoxville, Tennessee, has worked with Eric Clapton, James Taylor and Alison Krauss.

In May, he will stop off in Hereford as part of his UK-wide solo tour.

He’ll take to the stage at The Jam Factory on Tuesday, May 27.

Daniel will perform songs from his debut solo album, Carpet in the Kitchen, which was released earlier this month.

Among the guest musicians on the album are Jerry Douglas, an award winning Dobro and lap steel guitar player, with whom Daniel was nominated for a prestigious Grammy award in 2018.

Daniel is no stranger to touring in the UK, having appeared with folk supergroup Transatlantic Sessions earlier this year.

As the bassist for the project, Daniel performed across the UK with musicians including Loudon Wainwright Ill, Julie Fowlis and Aly Bain.

Each night, he stepped up to the mic to perform Loyston, the lead single from Carpet in the Kitchen.

You can hear the studio version of the song here:

Speaking ahead of his UK tour, Daniel said:

“I did a short run of dates in the UK before the Transatlantic Sessions and I really enjoyed it.

“Once I get to the gig and it starts, it’s a comfort zone for me.”

Daniel will also appear in Blackpool, Sheffield, Edinburgh, Brighton, London and Glastonbury during his time on this side of the Atlantic.
