In July 2023 we were privileged to see the remarkable sight of the only airworthy Lancaster Bomber in the UK from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight flying near Ledbury over Munsley Church.
This was in honour of a local man Wing Commander Tony Davies and arranged at great effort by local man Chris Ponter.
This event was attended by many of Tony’sfamily and friends who witnessed a spectacular and fitting tribute to Tony.
A written account of this man’s remarkable career in the RAF as a Bomber Pilot is now available in a revised, updated, and re-printed version of “Master Bomber” by Andrew Hodges.
The book details the whole of Tony’s service in the RAF from 1938 and throughout WWII including details of every operational raid Tony flew, and now also includes the story of the 2023 Flypast by Chris Ponter.
The soft bound book totals over 180 pages and details the original research methods, Tony’s family background and includes many colour and black and white photos.
