A fundraising page has been launched to help support Toros FC in Hereford recover from significant damage caused over the weekend.
A group of travellers pitched up on Belmont Abbey Playing Field on Saturday evening, with Toros FC coming across a significant amount of damage upon their return to the site this week, after the travellers had departed.
A spokesperson for Toros FC said:
“We want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported us over the past few days.
“The kindness, generosity, and community spirit have been truly overwhelming!
“A sincere thank you to everyone who helped with the clean-up today, and to those who have messaged or offered support, assistance, replacement items, or donations—we are so grateful. We’ll do our best to respond to each of you as soon as we can.
“It’s great to see just how strong and supportive our local community and football family are.
“Due to the number of kind offers and requests to donate, we’ve now launched a GoFundMe to help cover the costs of the clean-up and replace the damaged equipment and items.
“If you would like to make a small contribution, you can do so using the link below and all money raised will be used towards the costs borne by the club and for children’s grassroots football.”
