From Kate Gibbs:

I’m running the London Marathon for SSAFA, the Armed Forces Charity (Soldiers, Sailors, Airman and Families Association) please check out their website and the incredible things they do, a charity close to my heart.

You’re probably wondering why I’m running the Marathon and also why for SSAFA?

In 2018 aged 26, I tragically lost my Dad Laurie, he was only 57. He was daredevil, larger than life character and someone you’d want to be with in a crisis, I thought he would be around forever. He spent over 23 years in the British Forces, most of those in Herefordshire with Mum & I.

In October 2018 when he died I was fortunate enough to have amazing support from Family, Friends and his Army Family. Whilst I didn’t directly have the support of SSAFA the charity name was mentioned to me so many times as a pillar of support to many people whom are serving or had served their country.

Thank you so much for visiting my page and reading my story. I am so very grateful for any sponsorship. I’ve included my Strava feed so please do follow me on my journey to running 26 miles, in hopefully under 4 hours!
