A Hereford man is to take part in the Cotswold Way 100km Challenge in June to raise money for Sands and Hereford County Hospital.
Here is Peter’s story as told by his wife Sarah:
“Peter and I lost Reuben in July 2018 a neonatal loss at 2 days old. He was perfectly healthy we were just very unlucky.
“Sarah has helped to set up Hereford Sands with other families who have lost babies and want to continue to support the Hereford Born Sleeping appeal as well.
“In June, Pete is taking on a 100km ultra challenge, the Cotswold Way – a 100km ‘jog’ with a 2254m climb through the Cotswolds.
“He is doing this for SANDs and to raise funds for Hereford County hospital, as always, in memory of Reuben and all other babies gone too soon.
“Our hope is to continue to raise awareness and support SANDS who have done so much to support both ourselves and people around us, and also to support the hospital in creating a babyloss memorial garden for families to spend time in.
“Having this garden space will mean so much to families who have lost. A little safe haven where they can go to honour and remember their babies.”
