Ben (aged 48) was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer in January of this year which has spread to both his lymph-nodes and bones.

As you can imagine it was devastating news for both him and his family.

The consultant advised him that he needed to attack it back just as aggressively as it was attacking him so that’s what he has done.

With both radiotherapy and chemotherapy it’s taken a toll on his body but he has really shown courage, determination and strength through it all.

Macmillan Cancer Support have been such a support to Ben and Pam from the start so to say thank you they decided to give something back by signing up to the 26 mile Gower Peninsula walk.

When a few of his friends and family heard about this, they wanted to show him their support by being there too!

So yesterday 17 family and friends took a trip down to the Penrice Castle in the Gower very early in the morning to take on the challenge!

Having had his last session of Chemotherapy on Wednesday, everybody was concerned that Ben was taking on too much but he smashed it!

It was tough and there was a stage about 2 miles from the end when he really didn’t think he could go on but with some encouragement and support of a hiking pole from a very close friend he did it!

Ben’s family couldn’t be prouder of him. He really is an inspiration! ‘Team Chambers’ has raised over £12,000 for MacMillan Cancer Support and was one of the highest fundraisers for this event.

His family and friends would like to round this figure up to an even number so please if anyone out there is able to spare just a little to help raise a little more they would be so very grateful.

Words cannot express how very proud Ben’s family and friends are of Ben and are in absolute ore of his determination to fight as hard as he can to keep this horrendous disease at bay for as long as he can.

Please show your support by donating just a little to a fantastic cause:
