Hospice supporter Sabrina Howley is gearing up for a two-day 100km walk for St Michaelโs next month.
Her coast-to-coast walk will take her from Minehead to Dawlish, and she has a very special reason to embark on the challenge.
Recently, her dear friend Shirley (pictured right with Sabrina) spent three weeks being cared for by the Hospice.
Shirley said: โI cannot believe the amazing facilities that are available at the Hospice. It was like staying in a five-star hotel.
โFrom social workers, pastoral care, mindfulness, massages, doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, to the wonderful team of cooks. Plus, many more I havenโt mentioned. The support team were there immediately at your bedside at the press of a button during the night if you were anxious or in pain.
โNothing was too much trouble – absolutely every single person that works there obviously loves their job and cannot do enough to help you.โ
To help with her fundraising, Sabrina is holding a virtual tombola raffle tomorrow (25th), which has a number of prizes donated by small, local businesses.
