Small businesses embracing digital marketing have the power to compete with big brands on the global market, says a leading expert.
This is just one of the golden nuggets of advice which Lucas Karemo, trainer and business coach with Google’s Growth Programme, will share with entrepreneurs and SMEs when he attends the Love Digital event in Hereford later this month.
The free event at the Three Counties Hotel on February 14 is being organised by the Marches Growth Herefordshire in partnership with the University of Wolverhampton.
The aim is to equip business owners with the knowledge they need to maximise the use of digital technologies, data and communications within their organisation.
Opening at 10am, the event will include a business expo where a range of companies and organisations will be providing advice and support to businesses on all things digital including drone technology, GDPR, cyber security, e-commerce technology, digital programmes and software, SEO and digital marketing.
There will be an opportunity for networking plus a workshop on ‘Smart(phone) Filmmaking hosted by Hereford-based film company Shooting Reels. A second workshop on ‘Entering the Impossible’ by local company Sly Spirit will also introduce business owners to the power of Virtual and Augmented Reality.
Guest speaker Lucas, who grew up in Malvern, will then talk about the power of digital marketing and why all small businesses should have an online marketing strategy.
He will share some top tips and advice and provide inspiration to those wishing to grow their online markets.
Lucas, who has supported hundreds of small business owners, insists that digital marketing has the power to put small, local businesses on the same level playing field as big name brands.
He said: “Digital marketing is empowering but more importantly for entrepreneurs and small businesses it can be a real leveller.
“The same principles apply in digital marketing whether you’re a global player in business or at the opposite end of the scale and are a loved and local business.
“If done well and effectively, digital marketing enables you to target your audience and respond to the specific needs of your market.”
At the event Lucas will be helping businesses focus on their digital marketing planning.
