‘For a properly laidback place to unwind outdoors, check out Kingfisher Meadow Camping and Caravanning Park, a simple site just outside Bodenham in the Herefordshire countryside.

‘Hereford city centre is a 15-minute drive from here, with the A417 a handy two-minute drive if you’re looking to get out and about further afield.

‘All is brilliantly set up here to help you make the most of peaceful outdoor life – there’s a sizeable pond on site for wildlife-watching and sunset-spotting, and the whole place is surrounded by quiet fields and farmland.

‘There’s also ample opportunity for strolling and cycling nearby (in the company of a canine companion if you’ve brought one along – they’re welcome on site), with both the Malvern Hills and Wye Valley within easy reach. Plenty of other day trips beckon further afield – there’s a strong chance that Ludlow, Worcester, Bromyard or Ross-on-Wye will make an appearance on your list.

‘Barbecues and campfires are allowed on site, with firepits available to hire and logs to buy.

‘On Saturday nights there’s a special campfire evening to bring the whole community together, where one and all are invited to gather round a big blaze for a sociable evening by the flames.

‘For non-self-cooked meals, there are also a couple of country inns within a 10-minute drive, plus supermarkets over in Leominster (15 minutes).’
