Allensmore Nurseries will be celebrating 50 years of business on Friday 12th August with a small gathering of past and present employees to mark this very special occasion. All of the staff at Allensmore, many of whom have been with the company more than 25 years, would like to congratulate the Taylor family on 50 fantastic years of business!
The business was established in 1972 by Brian and Ruth Taylor, who are still involved to this day as Chairman and Finance Director. After time spent at horticultural college and working for other businesses in the industry, Mark and Jane joined their parents in later years and as a family have developed the company into the successful business it is today.
The business started as a houseplant company selling to florists within a 50 mile radius, later moving into bedding plants and other garden plants, and is now one of the biggest growers of herbaceous perennials in the whole of Europe supplying garden centres, DIY stores and supermarkets nationwide.
