A Herefordshire fish and chip shop has been named as one of the best in the country.

Fiddlers Elbow Fish and Chips, in the village of Leintwardine on the Herefordshire / Shropshire border was named as one of the best in the country in the Fry Awards 2025.

In a post on social media, the owners of Fiddlers Elbow  Fish and Chips said:

“We are thrilled to announce that for the seventh consecutive year, we have been recognised as one of the 50 Best Fish & Chip Takeaways.

“This achievement follows two meticulous mystery dining visits.

“During these visits, the judges thoroughly evaluated various aspects, including the quality of our food, the cleanliness of our premises, the expertise & knowledge of our staff, the value for money we offer, the ease of our ordering process, and our presence on social media.

“Thank you as always to our loyal customers for your continued support.”

Fiddlers Elbow first opened as a fish and chip shop in Leintwardine in the early 1970’s, before a new family took over the business in 2013.

Since then, they have renovated the shop with a major refurbishment in 2017, investing in all new equipment and expanding the menu offering to become a multi award-winning business.
