A Herefordshire engineering company manufacturing high precision motorsport components is investing on Skylon Park, developing a new 1,600 sq m premises.
Central Engineering is looking to expand its operations after clinching a raft of substantial new contracts for projects both in the UK and overseas.
The 35-year-old family company works with multiple industries, including aerospace, automotive, agricultural and the renewable energy sector. It plans to build a new site on Festival Way on Skylon Park, Hereford Enterprise Zone.
Zone chairman Andrew Manning Cox said the investment was the first of a number of investment announcements in the pipeline for 2021, with work on Skylon Park’s North Magazine well under way.
He said: “Throughout the pandemic, progress has continued on Skylon Park to develop land and make it ready for companies looking to locate here in the dynamic business landscape.
“We’ve worked hard to ensure our plots are shovel ready, from preparing the ground to providing access to services including securing outline planning permissions.
“That means we are able to simplify the process for investors and shorten timescales for their re-location or expansion. We’re delighted that Central Engineering is growing and creating jobs and that it has chosen to do so here at Skylon Park.
“The technical and consistent quality and delivery of projects by the company has led to contract wins. This growth has resulted in the investment in bigger premises with room to expand and grow their workforce. Central Engineering is a great Herefordshire success story.”
Chris Coe, Engineering Director at Central Engineering, added: “We will shortly be starting work on our new facility on Skylon Park, working with Pontrilas contractors Collins Design & Build as part of our commitment to supporting other local businesses and our supply chain. “We are delighted that we’re able to grow our business here in Herefordshire and the new facility will give us the space to increase our headcount and deliver even more high precision components for our customers across multiple industry sectors.”
