The announcement that football has been given the go ahead to return is ‘music to the ears’ of all those that enjoy their weekly dose of the beautiful game. That’s according to the Chief Executive of the Herefordshire Football Association Alan Darfi, who said:
“After months of waiting, it is great to finally have a timetable for the return of grassroots football. Whilst this news is obviously fantastic, as anticipated there are a number of stipulations to ensure that the return is done in a safe manner, to ensure the health and wellbeing of all involved. The FA has produced a range of useful documents and it will be for Clubs to review these and complete detailed risk assessments, ahead of kicking off again.
“The HFA will now review the position with all Leagues, to determine whether we can safely get leagues kicked off in accordance with the FA’s recommended re-start of 5 September. We will be working closely with leagues and clubs to help this process and doing all that we can to get started ASAP. We will also be doing the same in relation to our Cup competitions.
“As soon as Clubs are ready, the FA has also confirmed that training can start again, with relevant safeguards in place. I am sure this news will be music to the ears of those who have missed their regular dose of real football and it will be great to see things slowly starting to get back to normal on pitches up and down the County!”
