Staff and residents in care homes in England will be regularly tested for coronavirus from next week, the government has said.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock has said that staff at care homes are set to be tested on a weekly basis, whilst residents will each receive a test every 28 days.

The testing will start from Monday, for all those aged over 65. It will also include those with dementia.

From August the testing scheme will be expanded to all care home settings.
