Birmingham Airport (BHX) is preparing for a busy Easter with over 750,000 passengers expected to travel through over the two-week break, a 10.2% increase in customers year-on-year.

Dublin, MalagaAlicanteAmsterdam and Dubai are the top five destinations of choice for passengers this Easter break followed by a range of sunshine routes. 

Al Titterington, Terminal Operations Director of Birmingham Airport said: 

“This easter sees over 750,000 passengers travel through the Airport during the two-week break. Customers are jetting off on sunshine, city breaks and onward travel to long haul destinations via our international hubs

Customers are reminded that liquids can be carried in hand luggage, electrical items too, and both do not need to be removed during the security search process. Our teams are on hand to welcome those jetting off during the holiday period.

Ahead of the Easter break, Birmingham Airport is issuing some top tips for customers to ensure a ‘cracking’ travel experience. 

Top Tips for Customers for the Easter getaway: 

  • Please leave all compliant liquids and electricals in your hand luggage.  
  • Customers should follow these instructions:  

-All liquids up to 2L remain in hand luggage during the security search. 

-All electrical items to remain in hand luggage during the security search. 

-Please ensure any aluminium/metal bottles/flasks are emptied in advance of security. Refill stations are available once through security and are free of charge. 

-When going through security, please ensure all items are out of pockets including phones, keys, coins, and tissues etc. Watches can be left on, but please be prepared to remove belts and shoes if requested. 

  • Each airline has its own check in time. Customers are reminded to turn up in line with when their check in opens. This detail can be found on their booking.

  • Check in Zones in the terminal:
