Other results in the competition saw Worcester United defeat AFC Kempsey away from home following a nail-biting 15-14 penalty shootout, while Pershore Town 88 Development secured a 1-0 home win over Hereford Pegasus FC Development.
There was just one game in the hummel Herefordshire Football League, as AFC Worcester recorded a solid 3-0 home victory over Ludlow Town FC Reserves.
In the Herefordshire FA Women’s League, Hereford Lads Club Ladies held off a late comeback from visitors Wellington Ladies to secure an important 3-2 win and move up to second in the table. Belmont Wanderers Ladies also enjoyed success with a 6-1 home win over Westfields Ladies.
Hereford FC Women rescued a point against Hereford Pegasus Women, as two second-half goals from the Bulls saw the game finish 2-2.
In Southern League Division One South action, Malvern Town were held to a 1-1 draw away at Winchester City.
Monmouth Town FC, situated on the Welsh side of the Herefordshire border, were knocked out of the GCFA Senior Cup in the second round after losing on penalties to Newport Corinthians. A full match report will follow later in the week.
In rugby, Luctonians Colts recorded an impressive 41-10 away victory against Stourbridge Colts on Sunday.
In the Herefordshire Short Mat Bowling Association (HSMBA) County Singles Championship, Gorsley’s Joe Loveys beat Ross’ Dave Andrews 6-5 in a tightly contested final. The competition featured 32 players from eight different clubs, with the HSMBA set to release a full report soon.
At the penultimate rounds of the Herefordshire Raceway Winter Championship, the rain held off as both juniors and seniors enjoyed dry running throughout the day.
Phoenix Clements led the Cadet class, followed by Freddie Turner and Harry Davison. The top three Novices were Blake Lang, Toby Lewis and Tomos Goodwin, while Lucas McShane topped the Beginners ahead of Luke Lazenby and Jed Khoza.
In the Juniors, Thomas Weal secured overall victory ahead of Jack Rouch and Oskar Machowiak. The Novice class was won by Adrian Modzelewski, followed by Joey Bates and Lloyd Johnson. The top three Beginners were William Jenkinson, Leighton Barker-Yates and Frankie Shaw.
In the Seniors Endurance Race, TJF claimed another victory as they close in on the title. Leopard Print Tarts finished second, with RMR taking third place for the third race in a row.
